Unfortunately, you don’t get into veterinary nursing for the money it is not well paid in monetary terms but in satisfaction and gratification it ticks all the boxes. I have used this role to travel with and have worked in some very fine institutions; I have seen and been involved in some amazing situations during these times. I have grown as a person both in my quest for knowledge and can pretty much say ‘Living the dream’. I have however gone out and stretched myself, I have continued to build my knowledge base and ensure I work to best practice – This is one of the most important aspects to carry from study into work life – Be the best and bring the best to your job.
So many people are looking to re-educate and many are choosing a route they may have always had an interest in but walked another path first. The lawyer that never really wanted to be a lawyer, but thought it was ‘the right choice’ – and maybe it was at the time. The accountant from South America travelling through Australia, decided to retrain as a Veterinary Nurse – Now living and breathing animal care. Or the mother that finally has the opportunity to do something for herself. It doesn’t matter where you have come from but the direction you are wanting to take now.
I am a strong believer in things happen for a reason and if you are reading this and I have got you thinking then maybe, just maybe this is the first step to joining an amazing profession. You can contact me for more information about training as a veterinary nurse just by signing to the ‘contact us’. I wish you all the best with your endeavoured career pathway.
